Team play is important, it takes one individual to bring the team down
It is an amazing sight to see the world’s best tennis players fighting it out at Wimbledon. I see how motivated these players are and the sacrifices they have made to get to where there are today.
I realise how motivated they are and although it is an individual sport, in fact, it is the team that surrounds the players that have to be in top form as well. They need to share that same form of motivation and commitment around the player to help the player to become the best that they can be. I refer to the coach, the family, friends, the psychologist and others all of whom show high levels of support and commitment,
Watching tennis for 1 day motivates me even more and I recognize the importance of team play.
Something that is so important in business today is to aspire to be the best in all areas of business. For it takes one individual to bring the team down if they fail at their tasks.
But it is the level that these players perform at and the dedicated staff that surrounds them that is difficult to accomplish. It takes guts and a whole lot of energy to perform at such high levels.
As a business owner, I give it my all and it is normal to accept that certain employees cannot operate at the level that I perform at. However, there are few that do commit and give 100% and for that, I am happy to say we are as a company beginning to rise to the occasion to become the best at what we do.
