Kingly – the leading sock knitting company in the Promotional Merchandise Industry – recently passed another Smeta Pillar 4 audit with flying colours. There are no corrective measures that the company needs to act upon. Their focus is always on doing things better: sustainably, ethically, responsibly, to the highest possible standards, and with a human touch.
They are the only socks producer with a zero-waste facility and one of only 52 GOTS-certified sock knitting manufacturers worldwide. There is no other GOTS producer with an office in the UK that has met the criteria in the same product category, as the certification is incredibly difficult to obtain. Not to mention, Kingly have been awarded with the prestigious Promotional Gift Award 2022 for their GOTS organic cotton socks.
Kingly’s GOTS organic cotton socks are composed of 80% organic GOTS cotton, 17% eco-friendly regenerated polyamide (recycled nylon) and 3% elastane. They are a sustainable alternative to the most popular textile promotional products and are favored by tech giants like Google, Samsung, Facebook, Instagram and many more.
GOTS – this 4-letter abbreviation stands for eco-friendly, organic production, underpinned by socially responsible and ethical employment – from fair wages to health and safety in production and in supply chains. These products make a difference as they not only leave a better environmental footprint but also guarantee the well-being of our employees.
For a sock to call itself an organic cotton sock, it must not have used any chemical pesticides, genetically modified seeds, or artificial fertilizers. Its production is supposed to promote and enhance biodiversity and biological cycles. Spun with care and comfort, it is softer, kind to your skin, and gentler on the planet. Moreover, if not recycled it’s biodegradable, so it creates less waste going to landfill.
Kingly’s GOTS organic cotton socks have achieved “Honours score” – the highest sustainability rank given by BCome’s Cradle to Grave sustainability platform that empowers textile and apparel businesses to build responsible supply chains, guarantee transparency and bring it to the final customer. Moreover, all of Kingly’s socks are included in this third-party sustainability system with QR codes that reveal their sustainability scores.
From mid-October 2022, their production switched up to 24 hours a day. This Christmas is really going to be “crackers” as Kingly are able to produce socks around the clock! With a superb design team, the company will support you with fantastic sock designs created to chime exactly the right note with your customers. Make use of our 24-hour production facility to get ahead of the competition – and know you’ll be doing it sustainably too!
Kingly have enormously ambitious dreams for the future and are already working on new sustainable projects. They hope to implement new creative and functional ways to upcycle textile wastage. They are taking well-calculated risks and are not afraid to dive into ambiguity. However, there are certain steps they need to take to bring our company to the next level.
As they become a more sustainable, more reliable, and more efficient business, they need to make sure that we can guarantee that all of their systems are updated and working properly. Certain business trainings are building the foundations that will allow the company to become the ultimate European manufacturer of sustainable promotional apparel. Stay tuned…
