DTG Printing

Direct-to-garment printing (DTG) is a process of printing on textiles using specialized aqueous ink jet technology. DTG printers typically have platens in different sizes designed to hold the garment in a fixed position. The printer inks are jetted or sprayed onto the textile by the print head.

At Kingly we use GOTS / GRS approved inks, pre-treatment and a heat tunnel which ensures a stronger bond between garment fibers and the pigmented inks thus promoting drying and curing.

Since this is a digital printing process the print is sharper and has a higher resolution, or DPI, than traditional printing methods such as screen printing.  The minimum order quantity is only from 5 units.

The inks used by Kingly are water-based, eco-friendly and VEGAN that are specifically designed to adhere to fabric when heat cured. These inks and the print process are internally certified to the GRS and GOTS standards.

The GRS / GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD is an international product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions.
