I watched the semi-final match of the World Cup Rugby 2023 between South Africa and France yesterday. The tension was palpable, with both teams performing at their peak. The final whistle saw South Africa narrowly clinching victory with a score of 29-28.
But beyond the numbers on the scoreboard, there was a more profound lesson. The razor-thin margin between the teams wasn’t just about skill or strategy. It was about willpower. South Africa demonstrated an unwavering desire to succeed, an unyielding spirit that refused to give in, even in the face of overwhelming pressure.
This game is a poignant reminder of the unparalleled power of willpower. In our professional lives, just like in sports, the desire to push through, persevere, and never give up distinguishes the good from the great.
