As the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, the United Nations Global Compact* challenges businesses to operate responsibly and contribute to global social goals. By joining the Compact, Kingly pledged to uphold its ten universal principles in human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, derived from international declarations and treaties. These principles serve as the foundation for ethical business practices, promoting transparency, sustainability, and respect for fundamental rights.

Four Years of Progress and Impact

For the past four years, Kingly has been an active participant in the UN Global Compact, filing annual reports that detail our commitment to these principles. This collaboration has bolstered our business model in key ways:

  • Enhanced Sustainability: Across our operations, Kingly integrates sustainable practices, including the use of upcycled and organic cotton and eco-friendly packaging. Through the BCOME Cradle-to-Gate platform, we track the environmental impacts of our products from raw material extraction to manufacturing, assessing emissions, water use, and waste. Standards like OEKO-TEX STeP ensure responsible chemical management, social responsibility, and environmental performance. These efforts allow us to minimize our carbon footprint while maximizing sustainability;
  • Responsible Work Practices: Guided by the Compact’s labor principles, Kingly ensures safe and ethical working conditions, supported by certifications such as ISO 45001 and OEKO-TEX STeP. Our production facilities maintain the highest standards for health, safety, and fairness;
  • Social Responsibility: Kingly aligns its operations with the Compact’s social goals by promoting fair wages, eliminating child labor, and creating sustainable local jobs within Europe. By adhering to SMETA Pillar 4 standards, we uphold labor rights, environmental assessments, and business ethics across our supply chain.

Building Trust Through Transparency

Kingly’s participation in the UN Global Compact provides tangible benefits for our customers. Intelligent QR codes on our products allow customers to access real-time lifecycle data, including environmental impact and social contributions. This transparency reassures customers that they are supporting a business that prioritizes ethical and sustainable practices.

Shared Goals for a Sustainable Future

By aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, Kingly is creating a positive impact on communities and the environment. Our customers contribute to this mission by choosing products that reflect high standards of sustainability and responsibility.

“The UN Global Compact has been instrumental in helping us align our values with global sustainability goals,” said Rob Armour, CEO of Kingly. “Our participation not only strengthens our commitment to ethical practices but also allows us to lead by example in the textile industry. Together, we can build a more responsible future.”

Kingly remains dedicated to advancing the principles of the UN Global Compact, ensuring sustainable practices, ethical production, and meaningful community impact.

* The United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals. The UN Global Compact is a leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible corporate practices. Launched in 2000, it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 9,500 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and more than 70 Local Networks.
