Sustainability must be rooted in purpose—and purpose begins with people. That’s why Kingly was honoured to support The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch 2025 on 10 April, one of the most meaningful charitable events in the City of London, where civic heritage meets social action.
A Tribute in Every Stitch
As part of our contribution, we donated 50 pairs of our Spitfire socks and 50 pairs of our Tank socks—two heritage-inspired designs that reflect courage, resilience, and legacy. Each pair was sustainably crafted in our award-winning facility using ethically sourced, certified materials and is a symbol of respect and remembrance for those who have served in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
A Historic Occasion
The event welcomed The Right Honourable Lord Mayor Alastair King, the 696th Lord Mayor of the City of London—a position first established in 1189. Standing proudly beside him was Lady Mayoress Florence King, a committed military reservist, both deeply involved in supporting veterans and their families.
A Rich Tradition of Giving
The event also celebrated the traditions of the Framework Knitters and the Pikemen and Musketeers, the Lord Mayor’s ceremonial guard in the historic 17th-century uniform of the Honourable Artillery Company. The Framework Knitters raised around £4,000, and the whole Big Curry Lunch raised over £400,000 for Armed Forces Charities looking after the mental well-being of service personnel, veterans and their families, as well as helping them get jobs when leaving the Armed Forces. Since the inception of the Lunch in 2008, we have distributed over £3.7 million to support the veterans of His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
At Kingly, we are proud to be part of this ongoing legacy. Our participation reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and social impact. Every product we create is made with intention—from the materials we select to the partnerships we support. This was more than a donation—it was a message of unity, appreciation, and responsibility. We believe in the power of business to make a difference. And through initiatives like The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch, we are reminded of the profound impact that collective action can have.
Together, we honour the past, support the present, and help shape a future defined by dignity, opportunity, and lasting impact.
