With a wide-ranging career in textiles that goes back to 1994, CEO Rob Armour founded Kingly Ltd in 2014. He had become increasingly frustrated with the disregard for the environment shown by so many producers in the garments trade. He knew there was a better way, and we’re proud now to be leading the sector in environmental responsibility. Our business model demonstrates that it is possible to be profitable and eco-sensitive at the same time. With an increase in turnover of 130% in 2020 and healthy cash reserves, this proves we are on the right track with our mission, vision and goals.
Our team at Kingly is a rich mix of experts, all with different skills and all motivated by the same passion: delivering high quality, responsibly made products and excellent value for money. This is underpinned by top-flight design capabilities, meticulous production standards and outstanding customer service.
We’re actively involved with charities within the EU and donate 3% of our profits to charities across Europe. We anonymously donate thousands of socks and other items to people in need.
As one of Europe’s leading producers of brandable promotional textiles and merchandise, and selling worldwide, Kingly have also diversified into hygiene and cosmetic products, medical grade sanitizer gels and surface cleaning fluids. These add to our core ranges of promotional and retail products: T-shirts, towels and socks.
Kingly Ltd is a manufacturer with a difference. Our products are made sustainably, with fully traceable provenance for the materials we use and all the products we sell. We use organic and up-cycled cotton and are actively reducing the amount of polyamide (nylon) and polyester that we use. From April 2021 these will only be post-consumer sourced. Meanwhile, all our hand sanitizer bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic – 100% R-PET.
Recognised as dynamic and trustworthy, we’ve become one of the fastest growing sock manufacturers in Europe, and have led the way with our up-cycled socks sold in compostable bags – the reason we won the prestigious 2020 Promotional Gift Award. It was an easy win… a pair of upcycled socks saves a staggering 1200 litres of water per pair and no dyes or chemicals are used in the upcycling process.
On our production lines, 75% of all socks we make use organic or upcycled yarns and 90% of all socks packaging is now compostable. Other packaging follows suit, as we steadily migrate all our cartons to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified cardboard, and item tags are also FSC certified card. In our factories all ‘waste’ raw materials – trimmings and surplus fabrics – are re-used or recycled.
At Kingly we are always looking for a better way to do things and to give our customers the re-assurance that they have the genuine article. This is important. That’s why our hand sanitizer gel is always batch tested and is certified to EN1500, EN1276 and EN14476.
We believe in the highest standards and total transparency; we work hard to validate the way we work. We are SEDEX SMETA Pillar 4 certified: this checks and confirms our business and environmental ethics including our supply chains and working practices. We’re also fully compliant with and validated by ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certification. And to complement these most exacting standards, we also hold an A+ rating in the 2021 SAGE Rating Awards.
