Health & Safety Policy
Our occupational health and safety policy outlines essential measures to maintain a safe workplace, ensuring compliance and employee well-being.

Our Occupational Health and Safety Policy defines our objectives for protecting health and safety in the workplace and supporting the wellbeing and working capacity of our staff. It also outlines our responsibilities and how health and safety measures are organised and managed.

This policy has been prepared in accordance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation.

Policy Brief and Purpose

Our Occupational Health and Safety Policy helps us maintain the safest and healthiest possible working conditions for our employees.

Every employee has the right to feel safe at work. Kingly is committed to complying with applicable legal requirements, reducing workplace risks and providing a working environment that is as free from hazards as reasonably possible.

Scope

This policy applies to all prospective and current employees of Kingly, as well as volunteers, contractors, consultants, visitors and anyone else carrying out work on company premises.

Policy Elements

Our approach to occupational health and safety covers two principal areas: preventative action and emergency management.

Preventative Action

Preventative action includes the measures we take to reduce the risk of injuries and illnesses associated with workplace conditions and activities.

We will conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify risks to employees and establish appropriate preventative measures.

Potential Workplace Hazards

Potential threats and dangerous situations include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating industrial machinery, including sock-knitting, hydraulic textile-compression and packaging equipment.
  • Exposure to potentially toxic, flammable or otherwise hazardous chemical substances.
  • Slippery, obstructed or uneven surfaces.
  • Electrical equipment and infrastructure.
  • Excessive noise or unsuitable workplace temperatures.
  • Poor air quality or inadequate ventilation.

Preventative Measures

Kingly will take appropriate measures to reduce identified workplace risks. These measures include:

  • Providing suitable safety precautions, such as safety barriers, nets, ropes and warning systems, where required.
  • Providing appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, uniforms and protective eyewear. Employees must use required safety equipment correctly.
  • Regularly inspecting machinery, equipment and workplace infrastructure.
  • Providing employee training on health and safety requirements, standards and procedures.
  • Requiring at least two employees to be present when particularly dangerous tasks are being performed.
  • Requiring employees carrying out repairs, maintenance or cleaning to display appropriate warning signs and restrict access where necessary.
  • Prohibiting smoking in all indoor workplace areas.
  • Enforcing policies concerning alcohol, drugs and substance misuse to protect employees from unsafe behaviour.

Emergency Management

Emergency management covers our response to sudden incidents and emergencies, including fires, floods, earthquakes, explosions and other events that could threaten health and safety.

Our emergency management provisions include:

  • Functional smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and fire-protection systems that are inspected regularly by authorised personnel.
  • Access to appropriately qualified internal or external technicians for urgent repairs.
  • Clearly visible and easily accessible fire extinguishers and other fire-protection equipment.
  • Evacuation plans displayed in appropriate locations throughout the workplace.
  • Clearly marked fire escapes, evacuation routes and emergency exits.
  • Fully stocked first-aid kits kept in accessible locations.
  • Employees who have received suitable first-aid and emergency-response training.

We will conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises periodically. Emergency procedures will be monitored, tested and revised where necessary to maintain a high level of protection.

Additional Measures

Kingly will:

  • Update this policy to reflect changes in applicable occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Promote positive health and safety behaviour through appropriate recognition and incentive programmes.
  • Analyse previous incidents, accidents and near misses to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain clear procedures for reporting accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses.
  • Review and revise working procedures where improvements could reduce health and safety risks.
  • Consult qualified experts, insurers or regulatory representatives where necessary to support compliance with applicable local and international standards.

Responsibilities

Management and team leaders are responsible for implementing this policy within their areas of responsibility. They must ensure that employees receive appropriate instructions, training, supervision and equipment.

Employees are responsible for following health and safety instructions, using equipment correctly, reporting hazards and taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.

Everyone working with Kingly is expected to cooperate with the company’s health and safety measures and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.

Disciplinary Consequences

Employees who fail to follow health and safety instructions or who place themselves or others at risk may be subject to disciplinary action.

Serious or repeated disregard for health and safety requirements may be treated as misconduct or gross misconduct and may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment, where permitted by applicable law and company procedures.

Maintaining a healthy and safe workplace is everyone’s responsibility.
