Health & Safety Policy

The occupational safety and health policy defines our goals for occupational health and safety in the workplace and for activities that promote the working capacity of the staff. The policy also describes our occupational health and safety responsibilities and the way of organizing cooperation measures.

The preparation of the occupational safety and health policy is based on the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Policy Brief & Purpose

Our occupational/workplace health and safety policy helps us preserve the best possible work conditions for our employees. Every employee has a right to feel safe at work. Our company is committed to following legal standards and creating a hazard-free workplace.

Scope

This occupational/workplace health and safety policy applies to all prospective and current employees of the company, as well as volunteers, contractors, and consultants.

Policy Elements

There are two aspects to consider when establishing an occupational/workplace health and safety program: preventative action and emergency management.

Preventative Action

Preventative action involves steps we take to avoid injuries or illness related to workplace conditions.

  • We’ll conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to discover risks to employees and establish preventative measures accordingly.

Potential threats and dangerous situations include but are not limited to:

  • Operating industrial machinery (socks knitting, hydraulic textile compression, packaging).
  • Exposure to chemical substances (toxic, flammable, etc.).
  • Slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Electrical infrastructure.
  • Noise/temperature.
  • Air quality.

Preventative Action

Preventative action involves steps we take to avoid injuries or illness related to workplace conditions.

  • We’ll conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to discover risks to employees and establish preventative measures accordingly.

Preventative Measures

  • In dangerous contexts, we’ll ensure safety precautions like safety nets and ropes.
  • We’ll provide protective gear (e.g., gloves, uniforms, goggles), and using safety equipment is mandatory.
  • Inspectors and quality control personnel will regularly inspect equipment and infrastructure.
  • We’ll conduct employee-training sessions on health and safety standards and procedures.
  • Dangerous job tasks require at least two employees to be present.
  • Employees who perform repairs or cleaning must post caution signs.
  • Indoor smoking is prohibited.
  • We’ll enforce a substance abuse policy to protect employees from colleagues’ misconduct.

Emergency Management

Emergency management addresses our response to sudden catastrophes like fire, flood, earthquake, or explosion.

Our emergency management provisions include:

  • Functional smoke alarms and fire extinguishers, regularly inspected by the maintenance supervisor.
  • Quick response technicians (external or internal) for repairs.
  • Easily accessible fire extinguishers and fire protection equipment.
  • Evacuation plans posted on each floor and online.
  • Clearly marked fire escapes and safety exits.
  • Fully stocked first-aid kits at convenient locations.

We’ll also schedule fire drills and emergency evacuations periodically. Health and safety procedures will be monitored and revised to ensure a high level of protection.

Additional Measures

Our company will:

  • Update this policy to reflect changes in occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Use incentives for health and safety (e.g., safe employee awards).
  • Analyze past incidents to identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish clear accident-reporting procedures.
  • Revise work procedures to enhance safety.

We will consult experts or insurance representatives to ensure compliance with local and international standards.

Disciplinary Consequences

Every team leader is responsible for implementing this health and safety policy. Employees must follow health and safety instructions and will be held accountable if they don’t. Disciplinary action may include termination when employees consistently disregard health and safety rules.

It’s everyone’s responsibility to contribute to a healthy and safe workplace.
